Description
Why replace them as a set?
The rear knuckle bushings on the Ford Explorer are where the rear arms meet the hub carrier, and they all take the same loads under braking and cornering. Once they crack or soften you hear a knock from the rear and the alignment wanders, scrubbing the inside edge of the rear tyres. All of them are pressed into the same knuckle, so replacing them together on both sides means the knuckle comes off, the bushings are pressed and the alignment is set just once.
